Susan Palmer, a native Texan, opened Island Home in the Fall of 1999. Frustrated with finding the right mix of coastal chic furnishings, Susan turned her frustration into an opportunity and introduced her design esthetic to Palm Beach. Pale blue beadboard walls became the backdrop for white slipcovered furniture, raffia wrapped tables, framed sealife and elegantly embroidered pillows. These all became the cornerstone of her signature style: Beach Chic.
In August of 2013, Island Home moved to prestigious Worth Avenue, and now has a spacious, multi- level showroom offering an even greater selection of furnishings and accessories to decorate your seaside retreat. Susan has also expanded Island Home’s “Island Style” department by offering designer beachwear and accessories. Breezy kaftans, embellished string bikini’s, embroidered raffia totes and casual white linen separates which epitomize the Palm Beach “on holiday” lifestyle.
Stop in and say hello if you are in the neighborhood, and take a little beach home to wherever you live. After all: Life’s a Beach!
